Egg Anarchy
Instructions:
Eggs move from left to right at the top of the area. Click to make the egg drop. If eggs are in lines of 3 or more horizontally or diagonally they disappear and give you points.
Background for the Finally Finish Something Jam:
I started this game sometime last year. I wanted to create something simple to put on the google play store.
Programming: Me
Art: from "Game Developer Studio" website
Effects: from"OpenGartArt.org"
During the FFS jam I've:
- Added the background for the play area (I recently bought some graphics from "game developer studio")
- Added the Farmyard background from "game developer studio"
- Levels i.e. make the game play faster the more eggs that are cleared.
- Instructions screen
- Text Positioning
- Sound Effects from Open Game Art
I think the game looks pretty complete now, but post jam future enhancements might be:
- Animation on Eggs clearing
- Animate scoring
- Create a mobile app
- Game Title looks a bit out of place
- Graphics look blocky on a phone

I got to 2100 score and then forced myself to lose because I realized I had been playing for like 40 minutes xD
Thanks so much for playing and the feedback. I've made some changes so that it gets faster every 100 points. Hopefully that might stop it from going on too long!
I don't know if it's intended, but it's a little difficult to tell where your egg is gonna land when you tap. If you could somehow add maybe like some sort of extended indicator as to where it will land, that would help for casual players, especially if the game is intended for Mobile Devices (it looks like a mobile game to me). I was actually using the mouse to line up exactly where I wanted it to land towards the end so I could get the perfect combos lol
It was fun enough to keep me engaged for longer than I wanted to be, which is perfect for mobile games. I could see this being successful if you just had a banner ad or something non-intrusive, and made it a free game.
Thank you, yes that's kind of what I had in mind for the game, a simple mobile game. Hopefully I'll get somewhere near that at the end of this jam!
That's a great suggesting having an indicator. I'm going to add a background to the egg dropping area which should help, but an indicator definitely sounds like something worth getting in at somepoint. Even if it doesn't make it in for the jam.
